Purdue announced that quarterback Ryan Browne will start against Oregon in Week 8 on Friday. Browne is taking over the starting duties from Hudson Card, who has just recovered from a concussion.

Browne has featured in three games this season. He got his first start against Illinois in Week 7 last Saturday, completing 18 of 26 passing for 297 yards, three touchdowns, and no picks while adding 118 yards on 17 carries. However, Purdue fell to a 50-49 defeat in overtime.

Although the Boilermakers have a big challenge in the form of Oregon on Friday, Browne will look to pull off an upset for his team.

Card is reportedly available to play against the Ducks, but he will serve as Browne's backup in Week 8. The Boilermakers also have Marcos Davila as their third-choice quarterback.
