Purdue vs Ohio State: Preview
Purdue is a massive +29.5-point underdog, while the over/under is set at 56.5 points.
The Boilermakers have been one of if not the worst team in college football this season. Purdue has struggled on both sides of the ball, and that should continue here.
The Boilermakers are led by Hudson Card who's thrown for 1,606 yards, nine touchdowns and six interceptions, while Devin Mockobee has rushed for 666 yards and four TDs.
Indiana, meanwhile, had its first real test of the season and lost by Ohio State. The Hoosiers should still be in the playoffs but will need to make another statement here against Purdue.
"Total focus on Purdue. A rivalry game. Obviously, a big game. Saturday night. Seven o'clock. Thanksgiving weekend," coach Curt Cignetti said, via 247Sports. "We need to get the students back. We need to pack the stadium. It has to be loud. It's got to be a winning edge for us. Got to have a great week of preparation. They are a capable team.
"They are not having the kind of season they are wanting to have obviously, but they are also a team that scored 40-points in the second half against Illinois to come back from a 27-3 deficit and send the game into overtime. At this level, everybody is capable. We've got to play well and play very well," Cignetti added.
Indiana did drop from five to 10 in the rankings, but Cignetti believes his team is still in a good spot for the playoffs.
“I said what I had to say about the College Football Playoff after the game,” Cignetti said. “The only thing I'm going to say today is we're sitting in a good spot. But we've got to take care of business. That's that.”
The Hoosiers are led by Kurtis Rourke who's thrown for 2,478 yards, 21 touchdowns and four interceptions. Justice Ellison has rushed for 748 yards and nine touchdowns, and Elijah Sarratt has 725 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
Defensively, Indiana is led by Amare Ferrell who has four interceptions, Mikail Kamara has 9.5 sacks and Aiden Fisher leads the team with 102 tackles.
Indiana will look to make a statement in this game and get another massive blowout win to put an emphasis on its playoff spot. However, Indiana should also rest some key players in the second half to make sure they are healthy for the playoffs.
Prediction: Indiana 44, Purdue 10
