Bill Belichick will coach UNC in 2025
Bill Belichick will take over the reins of UNC in the 2025 regular season. The iconic head coach and future Hall of Famer will experience his first stint in college football in the upcoming season.
Belichick has spent the entirety of his coaching career in the NFL. He won two Super Bowl games as defensive coordinator for the New York Giants and six titles as the head coach of the New England Patriots.
Belichick will replace Mack Brown, who was fired after a dismal stint with the Tar Heels.
Bill Belichick will be tasked with rebuilding a North Carolina side that has failed to excel in recent years. The Tar Heels used to be a powerhouse program but have since been overtaken by Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Ole Miss and other top-tier programs.
Belichick's appointment is expected to generate buzz for the program and ensure an improvement in their recruitment. Furthermore, improving on their 6-6 regular season record will be important.
It remains to be seen whether Belichick's time at UNC could bring glory to the program.
