The Texas Longhorns and Quinn Ewers had one of the most intriguing College Football Playoff Quarterfinal matchups as they faced the Arizona State Sun Devils. The Longhorns played well to go up 24-8 with 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter and had all the momentum. However, the Sun Devils sprang to life and tied the game up to force overtime.
Luckily for the Longhorns, they were able to win in double-overtime 39-31 and advance to the College Football Playoff Semifinals to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers posted a series of pictures of the game on his Instagram account with a simple three-word caption: "The Journey Continues".
What has Quinn Ewers done in the College Football Playoff?
This is the second season that the Texas Longhorns and quarterback Quinn Ewers have made the College Football Playoff. He has proven to do well in big games and so far in his two College Football Playoff games this season, Ewers has completed 37-of-54 (68.5%) of his passes for 524 yards with four passing touchdowns, two interceptions as well as a rushing touchdown.
The Longhorns have a lot of experience and this upcoming game against the Ohio State Buckeyes gives Ewers a chance at redemption. Texas lost in the College Football Playoff Semifinals last year to the Washington Huskies and now get a chance to right that wrong and make the national championship game.
However, this is a little more personal for Ewers himself as he began his college football career with the Ohio State Buckeyes during the 2021 season. He would appear in one game against the Michigan State Spartans that season and take a pair of snaps in the victory but not get an attempt or any other statistic to his name. He would transfer after the season and join the Texas Longhorns.
