Quinn Ewers has been in the spotlight for the No. 6 Texas Longhorns (7-1 overall record, 3-1 in Southeastern Conference) ahead of their Week 11 clash against the Florida Gators on Nov. 9. The quarterback has been nursing an oblique strain since Texas' Week 3 game against UTSA.
Ewers subsequently missed two games and returned against Oklahoma in Week 6 on Oct. 12. Although he has been playing through some pain since getting back into the thick of the action, Ewers provided a positive update on his injury this past weekend.
Quinn Ewers injury update ahead of Texas' matchup against Florida
On Saturday, after leading Texas to a 27-24 win over Vanderbilt in Week 9, Quinn Ewers provided an update on his oblique injury and said he was finally getting back to normal, which is also helping his confidence heading into the latter stages of the regular season.
"I'm finally back to feeling normal." Ewers said. "I don't have to worry about it on hits, which is a good feeling because you can play more freely and don't have to think about taking or not taking certain hits."
Ewers will also get an extra week to rest and recover for the matchup against Florida since Texas has an off in Week 10.
In six games this season, Ewers has completed 130 of 188 passes for 1,389 yards with 14 touchdowns while throwing six interceptions. He has also rushed for one touchdown.
In Ewers' absence, Arch Manning led the Texas offense.
