Previously, he played for the Ohio State Buckeyes during his freshman year, before moving to Texas in 2022. He attended Caroll Senior High School, where he began his football journey. As a high school junior, he threw for 2,442 yards and 28 touchdowns, despite missing six games due to injury. His senior year highlights include leading Southlake Carroll to the state championship game and earning unanimous MVP honors in District 5-6A. He was the top-ranked recruit nationally by 247Sports, Rivals, and On3.
