Rich Miller is an experienced senior, who played for the Kansas Jayhawks during the 2023 season. Although his hometown is in Detroit, Michigan, he attended Martin Luther King High School where he became an outstanding linebacker. His high school career was eye-catching, he steered his team to two state titles, one in 2016 and the most notable one in 2018. He was scouted for his talent, he had made the first-team Class All-State by The Detroit News and second-team All-State by MLive in 2018. Miller began his collegiate journey by committing to the Buffalo Bulls. He started in all 13 games during his very first season as a freshman in 2018. Furthermore, he mostly started in the special teams. Eventually, he transferred to the Kansas Jayhawks, where he gave plenty of impactful performances to become a jewel for the Jayhawks. He got many recognitions, among which he received Honorable Mention All-Big 12 in 2021 and Third Team Preseason All-Big 12 in 2023.

In his very first game, he notched seven tackles in the opener against Missouri State, displaying his leadership ability to command the defense. That season, Miller delivered some consistent performances, where he set a record of eight tackles and a sack against Iowa State and tallied another eight tackles, seven of which were solo, against Texas Tech. His impact was not just about tackling, he was also involved in pass breakups and tackles for loss, which was appraised in the win against Cincinnati. Miller's great performance in 2023 finally cemented his status as one of the crucial defensive players for the Jayhawks, topping an illustrious career with a noteworthy contribution to every game and marking that season a successful campaign.
