Ricky White III is a prominent wide receiver for the UNLV Rebels of the Mountain West Conference. White's journey in football began at Marietta High School, where during his senior year, he recorded an impressive 55 receptions for 1,006 yards and 13 touchdowns, which led to his commitment to play college football at Michigan State University.

White joined the Michigan State Spartans in 2020. His freshman season was highlighted by a standout performance against arch-rival Michigan, where he set a school record for freshman receiving yards with 196 yards on eight receptions. This remarkable feat earned him accolades such as Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week and Pro Football Focus National True Freshman of the Week. Despite this promising start, White's subsequent season in 2021 was marred by injuries, limiting him to a redshirt year without any game appearances. Following the season, he entered the NCAA transfer portal and transferred to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to join the Rebels in 2022. In his first game with UNLV against Idaho State, he recorded eight receptions for 182 yards and two touchdowns. This performance ranked among the top single-game performances in UNLV history. Throughout the 2022 season, White finished with 51 receptions for 619 yards and four touchdowns. In the 2023 season, he became a pivotal part of UNLV's offense, finishing the regular season with an impressive tally of 88 receptions for 1,483 yards and eight touchdowns. His performance earned him numerous accolades, including being named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press and breaking long-standing school records for both receptions and receiving yards in a single season. Notably, he achieved five consecutive games with over 100 receiving yards—a first in UNLV history.

White earned recognition as an Academic All-America candidate and was named to multiple academic honor rolls throughout his college career. As of spring 2024, he is pursuing a graduate certificate after earning his bachelor’s degree in human services.
