Dabo Swinney's move to the Dallas Cowboys is becoming a bigger possibility every passing day. He is the coach of the No. 19 Clemson Tigers, and although the team is not having a poor season, it is looking less likely that they will make the playoffs after their 33–21 loss to the No. 25 Louisville Cardinals on Saturday.

Clemson has had tremendous success under Swinney. Since joining the team as head coach in 2008, he has led the Tigers to two national championships in 2016 and 2018, and eight Atlantic Coast Conference championships. However, since winning from 2015 to 2022, Clemson has struggled compared to its normal standards.

Similarly, the Dallas Cowboys are in the middle of a season far below what was projected of them. The team is 3-5 through the first eight weeks of the NFL season and looks less likely to make the playoffs with each passing week.

Head coach Mike McCarthy has been with the team since 2020, leading them to three straight 12-5 seasons from 2021 to 2023, making the playoffs each time. However, playoff success has been an issue, and patience in the fan base is running thin for its head coach.

With Clemson potentially looking for a change at the head coaching position and Swinney available, a move to the Dallas Cowboys could make sense.

How realistic is Dabo Swinney to Dallas Cowboys?

Dabo Swinney to Dallas Cowboys is only a rumor at this point, but it makes sense for all parties involved. This is Swinney's 17th season as Clemson Tigers' coach. Regardless of the success, it is an extremely long time for a coach to stay with one team.

Since he has had so much success at the college level, it makes sense for him to be interested in an NFL position. Many NFL teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, will likely be interested. With Clemson, he has a 175-45 record, a 12-8 record in Bowl games and two National Championships.

Dabo Swinney's move to the Dallas Cowboys makes sense because of his experience as a head coach and because he brings a new perspective. He is known for being tough on players, something the Cowboys need right now. They do not play disciplined football and appear to have reached their ceiling with McCarthy. Swinney joining the Cowboys is a realistic possibility this summer.
