The Rutgers Scarlet Knights go on the road to play the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday, with kickoff set for 4 p.m. ET. The game can be seen on FS1.
Rutgers is 4-0 and is coming off a 21-18 home win over Washington. The Scarlet Knights also have wins over Virginia Tech, Akron and Howard.
Meanwhile, Nebraska is 4-1 and returned to the win column last week with a 28-10 victory over Purdue. The Huskers' lone loss was in overtime at home against Illinois.
Rutgers vs. Nebraska: Preview
Rutgers is a 6.5-point underdog on the road against Nebraska. The over/under is set at 40.5 points.
The Scarlet Knights are led by quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis, who has gone 59 for 96 for 761 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception. Running back Kyle Monangai has also been solid, as he's rushed for 589 yards on 97 carries and six touchdowns.
On defense, the Scarlet Knights are led by Dariel Djabome, who has 35 tackles while Rutgers has recorded just three interceptions.
Rutgers has been a surprise team, and Nebraska coach Matt Rhule has been impressed by the Scarlet Knights and coach Greg Schiano.
“There’s lots of coaches who are regarded as the best coaches in college football," Rhule said, via SI. "Not many could do what he’s done. Speaking as a guy who won at Temple, you go win at Rutgers, not many people have won there. ...
"He’s a great football coach, zero, point blank. He’s a great builder. He’s elevated that entire university. I have the utmost respect for him. When he speaks, I listen. I just have a lot of respect for him.”
On the other hand, Nebraska has been led by true freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola. The quarterback has gone 100 for 142 for 1,225 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions.
Schiano also knows stopping Raiola and the Cornhuskers offense will be tough to do, especially on the road.
"(Dylan) Raiola, the freshman, is incredibly talented. You don't usually see a freshman that's capable of kind of doing the things that he's doing right now," Schiano said, via SI.
"The command he has of their offense is good for any level. For a freshman, that's unheard of," Schiano would say later in his presser. "He's a very gifted athlete. He can throw on the move, he can throw from the pocket, there's not much that this guy can't do."
The Cornhuskers defense has been solid this season as Nebraska is led by John Bullock, who has 29 tackles, including two sacks.
Although Rutgers is undefeated, the Scarlet Knights were dominated by Washington and should have lost that game last week. Raiola is getting better and better every week, and he should help Nebraska pick up a big win to keep their Big Ten hopes alive.
It will be a close game, but Rutgers' offense will have its struggles with the crowd noise and getting plays off.
Prediction: Nebraska 27, Rutgers 17
