The Alabama Crimson Tide secured their biggest win in the Kalen DeBoer era, defeating the Georgia Bulldogs 41-34 in Week 5 on Saturday. Following the victory, the Crimson Tide moved to the No. 1 spot in the latest AP Poll rankings.

Here's what the fans had to say about Alabama's new ranking.

"Saban who?" a fan wrote.
"As they should," a fan said.
"Alabama's decisive victory over Georgia not only showcases their current dominance but also sets a statement for the college football season, proving they're contenders for the top spot," a fan added.

However, a few fans felt that the Texas Longhorns deserved the first spot.

"Jumping Texas is wild," a fan added.
"It's almost like Texas doesn't exist?" another said.

Alabama Crimson Tide is ranked No. 1 in the new AP Poll

The Alabama Crimson Tide is the new best-ranked team in college football. It's the first time that they're holding the rank since Nick Saban's tenure, and it looks like it's a sign of things to come under Kalen DeBoer. Let's take a look at the top five teams on the updated AP Poll rankings:

5. Georgia Bulldogs

The Georgia Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season to their biggest rivals, the Alabama Crimson Tide. At one point, the score was 28-0, and credit to Kirby Smart's team for staging a comeback before the Tide pulled away.

Georgia remains one of the best teams in the country. However, Saturday's loss dented their armor.

4. Tennessee Volunteers

The Volunteers had their open week in Week 5. Tennessee's next game is against Arkansas, a worthy opponent for a team with deep playoff aspirations.

Expect Josh Heupel and his side to keep playing impressive football and staying in the hunt for the top three AP Poll ranking spots.

3. Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State Buckeyes will always be an offensive juggernaut, and their 2024 squad is no different. The connection between Will Howard and Jeremiah Smith is one for the books, and their third-place ranking is a testament to their synergy on the Gridiron.

2. Texas Longhorns

The Texas Longhorns might be without star quarterback Quinn Ewers at the moment, but they didn't seem too perturbed. Arch Manning is filling in rather nicely for the Heisman Trophy frontrunner. Texas is fresh off a great win against Mississippi State and couldn't have been ranked number one if not for.

1. Alabama Crimson Tide

Despite blowing a 28-0 lead, the Crimson Tide recovered sufficiently enough to inflict a 41-34 defeat on arguably the best college team in the country. No other team deserves the top spot other than Kalen DeBoer's side.
