"Send them into oblivion": Former NFL star sends clear message to Deion Sanders ahead of Colorado's clash against BYU

The Colorado Buffaloes have enjoyed an impressive season under Deion Sanders, better known as Coach Prime. The Hall of Fame cornerback turned college football head coach guided the Buffaloes to a 9-3 record in the 2024 regular season.

Before the Buffaloes' Alamo Bowl matchup versus the 10-2 BYU Cougars, former NFL linebacker Will Compton sent a clear message to Sanders and his troops. He posted on X (formerly known as Twitter)

"Colorado by 30. Send them into oblivion @DeionSanders."

His post was in response to a video of BYU players "actin' UP" in San Antonio.

Colorado Buffaloes face-off against the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl

The Colorado Buffaloes will end the Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter era with a game against the BYU Cougars in the 2024 Alamo Bowl. The Buffaloes earned bowl game eligibility after finishing the regular season with an impressive 9-3 record, narrowly missing out on a spot in the Big 12 Championship.

They're up against the BYU Cougars, who ended the season with a marginally better 10-2 regular-season record. This game will likely be the last time Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter play for the Buffaloes, as both players are consensus top 3 picks in the 2025 NFL draft.

Sanders is widely considered the best quarterback prospect in the upcoming draft class, while Travis Hunter will likely be the first pick off the board if neither the New York Giants nor the Las Vegas Raiders gets the first pick.

Sanders and 2024 Heisman Trophy winner Hunter have been pivotal in the Buffaloes improving on their 2023 record of 4-8. The Buffaloes are now a Top 25 team in college football and a tough team to contain, no matter the defense's strength.

The duo are sure to set off fireworks anytime they link up, and they'll be looking to run it back one more time in front of their fans at the Alamo Bowl versus the Cougars.

The game will occur at Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. EST.
