Travis Hunter is one of the most popular names in football. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner is considered a top-three pick in the upcoming NFL draft. He's won more than a handful of awards and is arguably the greatest unicorn of the past decade entering the league.
He's also in a high-profile relationship with Leanna Lenee. However, Hunter has been made to defend his fiancée, who has faced criticism lately from fans and analysts alike.
She has been criticized for her behavior during a meet-and-greet, where she seemed annoyed as Hunter posed for pictures with fans. She also caught flak for not standing as Hunter won the Heisman Trophy until Deion Sanders tapped her on the shoulder.
On Sunday, former Dallas Cowboys star Dez Bryant also posted about Hunter and Lenee's relationship on X and proceeded to rip the latter. In a now-deleted post, he wrote,
"I've tried my best not to get into Travis' business.. But I had to after seeing this... I'm here to tell you, brother…, wake up and quit playing. She talked all that stuff about you.., saying she was going to address the situation once, but kept talking about it…She loves the attention way more than you.
"She thinks she is an equal to you…I can tell you're a great dude.., and I promise there is a woman out there who is going to make your life easy and respect you…From what I see. She has nothing to offer but a major headache… What you got to offer. she’s not the 1."
Bryant made the post after a video emerged of Travis' fiancée in a music video from three years ago, where she was the artist's love interest.
Travis Hunter defends Leanna Lenee amid criticism
In a Twitch stream on Monday, Travis Hunter came to his fiancée Leanna Lenee's defense amid mounting online criticism. He claimed Lenee was emotionally affected by the comments made about her and called on people to stop making allegations about their relationship.
"I know what I got. I know my girl. My girl's been with me for five years," Travis Hunter said during the stream. "Y'all are just now starting to talk about me and just now starting to be with me. Come on, man."
Amid this off-field drama about his relationship, Travis Hunter is preparing for the Alamo Bowl, where the Buffaloes face off against the BYU Cougars in his last game at the collegiate level. He'll then embark on a short break before he begins the predraft process of visiting schools, the combine, and anything else.
Meanwhile, Lenee is planning their wedding, as she's already paid for a venue for next year. In November, Hunter revealed the date of their wedding, which is May 24, 2025.
