Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders led his team to an important 34-23 win over the Cincinnati Bearcats in Week 9 of the 2024 college football season. With Saturday's victory at Folsom Field, Colorado also ensured bowl eligibility.
A look at Shedeur Sanders' stats from Week 9 matchup against Cincinnati
Shedeur Sanders had a stellar game against Cincinnati. The quarterback completed 25 of 30 passes for 323 yards and threw two touchdowns with no picks. He also rushed for a one-yard touchdown.
Notably, Sanders set a Colorado record by completing 15 of his passes from the time the game began. He threw his first incomplete pass on the four-minute mark in the second quarter.
Sanders combined with two-way star Travis Hunter for both his touchdown passes. The first was a quick 3-yard pass that opened the scoring in the first quarter, and the second TD was a 34-yard pass to the wideout/cornerback.
After securing a bowl berth for Colorado, Sanders said the Buffaloes are yet to reach their peak potential.
“It’s big for us because it’s big for the fans," Sanders said. "We don’t go into the season or looking at the schedule like, ‘Oh, we’re only going to win six games.’ We’re not even hitting our peak, nowhere close.”
In eight games this season, Sanders has completed 220 of 300 passes for 2,591 yards and 21 touchdowns, while throwing five interceptions. He has also added three rushing touchdowns.
