Sherrone Moore is an American football coach who has been appointed by the Michigan Wolverines as the new head coach. Moore was an offensive coordinator for the program and spent six seasons with the Wolverines and is set to lead the franchise following Jim Harbaugh’s departure to the Los Angeles Chargers. Moore also played football for the University of Oklahoma and led the program to two Big 12 Championships and two BCS bowl games. Moore started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Louisville where he earned his Master’s degree in Sports Administration. After five seasons at Louisville, he was hired by Central Michigan as the new tight ends coach and later was named an assistant head coach in his fourth year with the program.
Sherrone Moore joined the Michigan staff in 2018 as the new tight ends coach after four seasons with Central Michigan. His offensive unit was one of the strongest in the realm of college football. Moore helped produce four NFL Draft picks Zach Gentry, Olusegun Oluwatimi, Andrew Stueber, and Ryan Hayes. Last season, Moore led the Wolverines to a 4-0 record during Harbaugh’s suspension. He earned his first win as a head coach in a 31–6 victory over the Falcons. Following Harbaugh’s departure, Moore was named the new head coach for the franchise and became the first African-American head coach in Michigan’s storied history.

Sherrone Moore and his wife Kelli have two daughters, Shiloh, and Solei. The couple got married in 2015 and were blessed with their first daughter in 2019. Three years later, they added Solei into their family who often attends games with Kelli.
