Shilo Sanders plays as a safety for the Colorado Buffaloes and is a graduate student for the 2024 season. Sanders hails from Canton, Texas, and attended Trinity Christian High School. During high school, he played as a cornerback, receiver, punter, and returned kicks. He helped the Tigers win the TAPPS Division II state championship in 2018. He started his college career at South Carolina before transferring to Jackson State. At Jackson State, Sanders played in 20 games over two seasons, starting in 15 games, accounted for 59 total tackles,1.5 tackles for a loss, 12 pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and five interceptions. Shilo Sanders had remarkable collegiate campaigns at Colorado and Jackson State. In 2023, Sanders earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors, leading Colorado with 70 tackles, including a team-high, four forced fumbles. His standout performance against Colorado State, where he returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown which earned him Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors. In 2021, at Jackson State, Sanders tied for second in the SWAC with four interceptions and made it to the All-SWAC second-team selection.
