"So proud of you hun": When Coach Prime's ex-wife Pilar Sanders gushed over son Shedeur after his eye-catching feat

Deion Sanders' ex-wife, Pilar Sanders, doesn't shy away from sharing affection for her children. She once gushed over her middle child, Shedeur, when he won the Deacon Jones Award in 2022.

As any proud mother would, Pilar took to Instagram to flaunt her son's feat.

"CONGRATULATIONS SON! @shedeursanders 2022 Deacon Jones Award HBCU PLAYER OF THE YEAR!!! So proud of you hun!!!!" Sanders wrote in the post for her IG caption.

When Shedeur won the Deacon Jones Award, he was a sophomore at Jackson State, where he was coached by his father, Deion. The two then joined Colorado after the 2022 season.

In his final year at Jackson State, Shedeur completed 341 of 483 yards for 3,732 yards and threw 40 touchdowns, with six interceptions. He also rushed for 173 yards and six touchdowns on 85 carries.

Along with the Deacon Jones Trophy, Sanders was named the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2022. He also earned his second first-team All-SWAC honors as he led Jackson State to the SWAC championship as the team went undefeated through the regular season. However, the Tigers lost 41-34 in overtime to North Carolina Central in the Celebration Bowl.

Deion and Pilar Sanders have three children. Their eldest is Shilo, followed by Shedeur and a daughter named Shelomi.

Both Shedeur and Shilo play for Colorado. While Sheduer is the team's starting quarterback, Shilo plays as a defensive back. This season, the No. 18 Buffaloes (7-2, 5-1 Big 12) are in contention to make the 12-team College Football Playoff thanks to the two Sanders brothers.

Shelomi plays basketball for Alabama A&M, where she is a junior. She began playing at Jackson State before transferring to Colorado for one season.

Pilar and Deion were married from 1999 until their high-profile divorce in 2015.
