The South Alabama vs. Appalachian State game will take place on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Jaguars (1-2) are traveling to take on the Mountaineers (2-1) at Kidd Brewer Stadium. It should be a good Sun Belt Conference matchup, and neither team is dealing with significant injuries.
With both teams either fully healthy or nearly at full strength, this matchup will be a clear assessment of their quality. No team can use injuries as an excuse if they lose which should make this matchup a highlight for college football fans on Thursday.
South Alabama vs. Appalachian State injury report
South Alabama is dealing with one injury to its quarterback, but it is not likely to keep him out of the matchup against Appalachian State. On the other hand, the Mountaineers are not currently dealing with any injuries.
South Alabama Jaguars injury report
Gio Lopez
QB Gio Lopez was injured in the first week of the season against North Texas, but he was able to finish the game. He hurt his toe, but stayed in the game and set a few school records including passing yards (432), and yards of total offense (497).
Lopez missed South Alabama's matchup against Ohio but returned for its Week 3 game against NW State. He looked fully healthy as he threw for 257 yards and four touchdowns. However, the Jaguars lost the game (52-38).
However, he is still listed in the injury report, albeit as probable. So, while Lopez played last week, his injury could still be affecting him and impact his availability.
Appalachian State Mountaineers injury report
Appalachian State is fortunate to not have any players listed on the injury report. The team has also not dealt with any significant injuries this season and has been able to field a healthy team each week.
