The Miami Hurricanes and Florida Gators have two of the most loyal fan bases in collegiate football. The teams are set to face off in Week 1, and it looks like some fans have taken it too far.
As seen on Instagram, Miami fans painted “Drain The Swamp" next to a popular road near Florida's campus ahead of tomorrow's game. The insult is a clever play on the Gators' nickname, and it states what the Hurricanes intend to do in the upcoming matchup.
There were many rebuttals in the comment section by displeased Florida Gators fans. These include:
"Surprised the spelling is correct"
“Someone needs to deface this immediately”, added another
"They can't even invade their own stadium"
Other Florida fans are looking forward to a win. With comments like:
"So Florida now wins by two touchdowns instead of one?"
"Florida winning confirmed" added another.
"Florida by 10"

What to expect from Miami and Florida in 2024?
The Miami Hurricanes enter the 2024 college football season with lofty expectations. They ended last season with a 7-6 record, including a bowl game loss to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The Hurricanes started last season with a four-game winning streak before their performances slowly but surely tethered away.
Expect Miami to play much better football in 2024. The program has made some additions via the transfer portal and has added some decent freshmen to the fold. Hurricanes fans will be expecting a much better record and, hopefully, a bowl game win in 2024.
Florida had a year to forget in 2023. The Gators started their season with a 5-2 record, winning over the Tennessee Volunteers, Kentucky Wildcats, and more. However, they ended the season with a baffling five-game losing streak. The Gators ended the year with a 5-7 record, thereby missing out on the chance to play in a bowl game.
Expect the Gators to write their wrongs in 2024. It all starts with a game against rivals, the Hurricanes, at the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
