Syracuse bowl projections after Week 14: Exploring the Orange's postseason chances

The Syracuse Orange are coming off an upset victory over Miami on Saturday, topping the Hurricanes 42-38 to conclude the regular season. Syracuse will earn a spot in a major bowl game after to cap off the program's best season since 2018.

The 23rd-ranked Orange (9-3, 5-3 Atlantic Coast Conference, No. 22 CFP) punched their ticket to the postseason on Nov. 2 with a 38-31 win over Virginia Tech.

The Orange opened their season with back-to-back wins, including an upset win over then-No. 23 Georgia Tech, before falling to 2-1 versus Stanford. Syracuse bounced back after Week 4, rattling off three consecutive wins, including a Week 6 upset win over then-No. 25 UNLV.

The Orange entered a crucial matchup versus Pittsburgh in Week 9 with a 5-1 record (2-1 ACC). Syracuse suffered a crushing 41-13 loss versus the Panthers but bounced back with a win over Virginia Tech in Week 10. Syracuse dropped its third game of the season to Boston College in Week 11 and fell to 6-3.

Syracuse rattled off three straight wins to close out the season and secured its third win over an AP Top 25 team versus then-No. 6 Miami.

The Orange finished 3-1 in four contests versus ranked opponents.

Coming into Week 15, most projections predict Syracuse will match up against Tulane in the Fenway Bowl. The Fenway Bowl will kick off on Dec. 28 at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts.
