Tennessee vs Georgia: Preview

The Vols are a 9.5-point underdog and the over/under is set at 48 points.

Tennessee has a big question mark with the status of quarterback Nico Iamaleava who is dealing with a concussion and is questionable to play.

“Nico has been good here in the early part of the week,” Tennessee coach Josh Heupel said on the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday, via AOL.com. "And at this point in the week, I'll refer everybody to the availability report that comes out later tonight. And everybody can wait with anticipation for that."

The Vols are led by Iamaleava who has thrown for 1,879 yards, 11 touchdowns and four interceptions. Dylan Sampson has rushed for 1,129 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Tennessee's defense has been one of the best in the nation, as the Vols are led by Will Brooks who has three interceptions, James Pearce Jr. has 5.5 sacks and Arion Carter has 50 tackles.

Georgia, meanwhile, is coming off a blowout loss to Ole Miss and now the Bulldogs will need to win out to make the playoffs.

A reason for Georgia's struggles has been Carson Beck who has thrown for 12 interceptions. However, Kirby Smart says he won't be benching his quarterback.

"Absolutely not," Smart said of a possible quarterback change ahead of Saturday's big game against Tennessee, via AtoZSports. "We've got a quarterback who's completely competent, capable, and understanding of our system that gives us the best chance to win."

Georgia is led by Trevor Etienne who has rushed for 477 yards and seven touchdowns, while Arian Smith has 535 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Defensively, the Bulldogs are led by Dan Jackson who has two interceptions, Jalon Walker has 4.5 sacks and CJ Allen has 49 tackles.

If Iamaleava is playing, Tennessee has a great chance to win the game, as the Vols defense is one of the best in the nation. Tennessee should be able to get an interception or two and cover the spread.
