As part of the Southwest Conference, they won the Conference with a record of 10-0 under the coaching of Dana.X. Bible. In the finals on November 27, 1919 they faced the Texas Longhorns and defeated them with a score of 7-0. Consequently, the Aggies were declared the National Champions via the Billingsley Report.

The Texas A&M Aggies won their second championship in 1927, once again under Dana.X.Bible as the coach. Throughout the conference, they created a record of 8-0-1. Unfortunately, there was no system for determining a national back then. In the finals on November 24, 1927, they again faced the Texas Longhorns, beating them 28-7.

In the Sugar Bowl on January 1, 1940, the team faced the Tulane Green Wave and defeated them 14-13 to become the National Champions for the third time via numerous selectors.
