Memorial Stadium was built for $275,000, as students' and alumni's donations helped to finance its construction. More than $165,000 was raised in March 1924 during an on-campus pledge drive.
In July 2021, the $175 million south end zone extension of the Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas, was finished. The school borrowed the remaining $50 million through revenue bonds, with donations accounting for the rest of the funding. The earnings from the sale of tickets and VIP seating were used to pay off the bonds.
