The No. 5 Texas Longhorns (6-1) will be on the road to square off against the No. 25 Vanderbilt Commodores (5-2) in Week 9 of the 2024 college football season. Saturday's game between the two Southeastern Conference teams is scheduled to kick off at 4:15 p.m. ET from FirstBank Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

As things stand, there are some doubts about who will start as the Texas quarterback against Vanderbilt on Saturday. Quinn Ewers is listed as Texas' QB1 on the depth chart for Week 9, but he is still dealing with an abdominal strain. While Ewers is expected to play, his lingering injury raises the possibility that Arch Manning might get the nod to lead the Longhorns' offense against the Commodores.

Ewers missed two games due to the issue and returned as Texas' starter against Oklahoma in Week 7. However, he hasn't looked at his best in the past two games and the Longhorns even suffered their first defeat of the season, a 30-15 loss against Georgia in Week 8 when Ewers led the offense.

Ewers has played five games for Texas this season. He has completed 103 of 151 passes for 1,101 yards and thrown 11 touchdowns, with four interceptions. The quarterback also has one rushing touchdown.

Meanwhile, Manning has featured in five games this season, including two starts. He has completed 58 of 84 passes for 920 yards and thrown nine touchdowns, with two interceptions. The redshirt freshman has also added 81 yards on 17 carries and rushed for three touchdowns.

Texas also has Trey Owens as its third-choice quarterback.
