Steve Sarkisian has built one of the deepest quarterback rooms in the country with Arch Manning, Trey Owens and Quinn Ewers.

Ewers is among the current top players in the nation — he threw for 3,479 yards and 22 touchdowns in the 2023 college football season and has done an impressive job handling the "outside noise" surrounding his quarterback competition with Arch Manning.

In a conversation with former NFL star Robert Griffin III on his show "RG3 and The Ones," Ewers opened up about his parents' sacrifices:

"They removed themselves from a comfortable life. I was born in San Antonio, I live in a town called Pleasanton; 45 minutes south of San Antonio until I was in third grade. My parents quit both their jobs to move up to Salt Lake area and they didn't really have a plan set, but they did it for me and my sisters.
"Just trying to give us a better life. And whether that been sports or academic. So just everything that they've done for me taking time out of their day to take me to practices spend all their money on me and my sister sports." (36:20)

Quinn Ewers on Arch Manning's place at Texas

The Longhorns' quarterback room has been a point of discussion since the beginning of the 2023 season, with many people voicing their opinion over Arch Manning's decision to not enter the transfer portal.

Manning has clarified his intentions to stick with the team and return for at least another year. In the same conversation with RG3, Quinn Ewers spoke on Manning's progress and weighed in on his future in Texas:

"Not being from the state and coming in, it's obviously a little different. I think he's got more time to grow his pride and love for the university... Being able to sit back and watch, it's different than playing. So him seeing kinda what's going on from inside but also outside, he can gain a lot of intel from that." (17:00)
"And then, obviously, another year to learn the offense and just get more comfortable within the smaller details. It's like the best situation for him, I think," he added.

Quinn Ewers will be ready to suit up as the Longhorns' starting QB in the 2024 college football season. However, fans would be eager to see a sneak peek of Manning's performance at some point in the season.
