Texas Tech is a 13.5-point underdog and the over/under is set at 56.5 points.
Against the Horned Frogs, the Red Raiders were outscored 14-3 in the final quarter, and have now lost back-to-back games.
For the season, Texas Tech is led by Behren Morton who has thrown for 2,063 yards, 17 touchdowns and three interceptions. Tahj Brooks has rushed for 925 yards and nine TDs, while Josh Kelly leads the team with 609 yards and three TDs.
Defensively, the Red Raiders are led by CJ Bakersville and Chapman Lewis, who both have three interceptions, while Jacob Rodriguez leads the team with 70 tackles.
The Cyclones have been a surprise team this season. Coming off an open week should make them well-rested ahead of the game against the Red Raiders.
In the win against UCF, Iowa State was led by Rocco Becht who threw for 274 yards, one TD and two interceptions. He also rushed for 97 yards and two TDs.
Entering the game against Texas Tech, Cyclones coach Matt Campbell said that the November games would define his team.
“You’re defined by how you’re playing in November,” Campbell said on Tuesday, via Des Moines Register. “You want to be in a position here, to be in the mix and be where you want to be. How do we do a great job of setting ourselves up for what is a critical time in any football team’s journey?"
“Who are you when you finish this thing in November, and what do you become? And I think those things are exciting for us, but what a great challenge.”
This season, Iowa State is led by Becht who has thrown for 1,712 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. Carson Hansen is the team's leading rusher with 398 yards and seven TDs, while Jaylin Noel leads the team with 681 receiving yards and three TDs.
Defensively, the team is led by Jontez Williams who has four interceptions, J.R. Singleton has three sacks and Malik Verdon has 53 tackles.
The Cyclones have a legitimate chance at winning the Big 12 and making the College Football Playoff. Iowa State's offense is expected to be successful against Texas Tech's defense.
Becht will have success passing the ball at home and the Cyclones should cruise to a lopsided win.
Prediction: Iowa State 35, Texas Tech 21.
