Texas hasn't lost to any team but Georgia this year. Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns will aim to continue that trend against the Ohio State Buckeyes in Friday's College Football Playoff semifinal in the Cotton Bowl.
Bruce Feldman, a college football insider for FOX Sports and The Athletic, isn't sure Quinn Ewers and Texas know what they're up against when they hit the field in Arlington.
"They haven't really seen anything close — anything even remotely close — to the talent that Ohio State has, with two top-line running backs," Feldman said Wednesday on 'The Rich Eisen Show.'
"The most talented player in all of college football is the receiver, [Jeremiah] Smith, that Ohio State has. They have three other receivers who are really good. The quarterback's a running threat, they have a good scheme. This is a different kind of test," he added.

In a 39-31 win over Arizona State in the Peach Bowl quarterfinal, the Longhorns defense had trouble late, letting the Sun Devils overcome a 16-point fourth-quarter hole to force overtime. If not for the clutch 28-yard touchdown pass Ewers threw to Matthew Golden on 4th-and-13 in the first extra period, Texas' season would be through.
Arizona State totaled 510 yards of offense in the loss to the Longhorns, thanks in part to that late surge.
"Very heavy Cam Skattebo, but again, they didn't have anything close to the receivers Texas is gonna see," Feldman said. "Now, can Texas' D-line and pressure get after Will Howard and be really disruptive? We saw that at times. What Michigan did have is three elite college D-linemen."
Howard was hit hard on a scramble play during that disappointing 13-10 defeat to Michigan, Feldman pointed out. He finished that day 19-of-33 through the air for 175 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
How strong is the offense opposite Quinn Ewers in Cotton Bowl?
Ohio State's offense hasn't looked anything like it did that day in its two performances since. The Buckeyes powered out to a 21-0 lead in its win over Tennessee, then were up 34-0 against Oregon in the Rose Bowl. Eisen believes Ohio State isn't mentally affected by other strong programs.
"I don't know if we could really use the Michigan game as a blueprint. Period, end of story," Eisen said. "This is not a troll, this is the real thing, is that every team in the College Football Playoff does not have what Michigan has had over the past three-plus years, is the ability to get in Ohio State or Ryan Day's head."

Former Buckeyes quarterback and ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit went as far as to say that the loss to the Michigan Wolverines was a good thing for Ohio State, which has been on a tear ever since.
