Lane Kiffin is having a moderate season with the Ole Miss Rebels (6-2, 2-2, SEC) in the 2024 college football season. The 49-year-old coach has loved life in Mississippi since taking over the top job in 2020.

On Sunday, Kiffin posted a special message on Instagram for his ex-wife - Layla Kiffin.

He reshared a post from an IG user - @lianawhoo, who uploaded a reel of having fun with her ex-husband and kids, portraying that not all divorced families live estranged and that co-parenting kids is crucial.

The Ole Miss HC has faced challenges throughout his college football career, but he's never been one to keep quiet about the personal side of things—especially regarding finances.

In a 2016 Sports Illustrated interview, the former Alabama offensive coordinator opened up about his money struggles post-divorce despite reportedly having a net worth of $14 million (as per Celebrity Net Worth).

Kiffin revealed how his finances were divided after taxes, fees, and his settlement with his ex-wife, Layla.

“I used to say there’s a constantly daily battle between who can take more of my money between Layla and Obama. I figured it out. I really don’t make any money…”

He detailed how he pays roughly 52% in taxes, 34.5% to Layla and 3% to his agent, Jimmy Sexton, leaving him with about 9% of his earnings.

This was especially challenging during his time in Tuscaloosa, while Layla and their three children lived in Manhattan, California, where rent alone was $10,000 per month.

"It’s almost like when you don’t have money, you think it’s important. And once you have it, you’re like, ‘Was I really happy because I have more money going into the bank? No.’ There’s a reason why people retire and move here. I get to coach football and live here."

For Kiffin, managing a high-profile career while balancing family commitments has proven to be quite intense.
