The Toledo Rockets are having an impressive 2024 college football season. They enter Week 12 with a 6-3 record (3-2 Mid-American Conference) and are looking to secure a winning season.
Let's take a look at their starting quarterback and QB depth chart for Tuesday's game against the CMU Chippewas.
Toledo's starting QB against the CMU Chippewas in Week 12
Tucker Gleason has featured in all but one of the Rockets' nine games this season. The junior-year quarterback is currently in his fourth season with Toledo.
Tucker Gleason started his college football career with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets but only appeared twice with the team. After the 2020 season, he entered the transfer portal and elected to move to Toledo to play for the Rockets.
The move has paid great dividends as Gleason has taken over the starting quarterback role for the 2024 college football season. He has racked up 1,896 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions in eight games this season.
Gleason will close out the season with a bang and potentially lead the Rockets to a bowl-game victory. He'll then access his options moving forward while the program potentially chooses its next QB1.
Toledo Rockets' QB depth chart
According to the College Football Network, the only other QB on the Rockets depth chart is John Richter. Thus, Richter is the Rockets' backup shot caller for the matchup against the CMU Chippewas.
John Richter is in his sophomore year with the Rockets. He played for one year in his freshman season, and that was against Texas Southern.
This season, Richter has amassed 456 passing yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions. He has scored touchdowns in all three games he's played in while completing 64.9% of his passes.
However, barring any unfortunate scenarios, Tucker Gleason will start against the CMU Chippewas. A win will guarantee the Rockets a winning record in the 2024 college football season.
