With the 2024 Paris Olympics beginning this Friday, July 26, at least one pre-Olympic battle has been sorted out. In terms of global representation, Stanford topped the list of universities with the most representatives in the international sporting event—a whopping 51 students and alumni.
Aside from Stanford, here are the 9 other schools that made the cut:
Top 10 colleges with most 2024 Paris Olympics athletes

10. Arkansas (23)
The Razorbacks, one of five SEC representatives in this list, may have slightly overperformed in Olympic representation. They finished 18th in the recently unveiled Learfield Cup standings, which measures all-around athletic excellence. Long jumper Carey McLeod is just one of the 23 Arkansas Olympians.
9. UCLA (24)
The Bruins, now members of the Big Ten, have a lengthy history of athletic excellence. UCLA finished 10th in the most recent Learfield Cup, and basketball player Jrue Holiday is one of the notable alumni in this year's Olympics.
8. Tennessee (27)
The Volunteers finished third in the Learfield Cup, so their strong showing of Olympians is no fluke. Volleyball legend Kelsey Robinson is one Vol worth watching in Paris.
7. LSU (28)
The Tigers star in plenty of sports, which is why their 13th place finish in the last Learfield Cup was a bit surprising. Putting that aside, sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson could well pick up a gold medal (or two) in Paris.
6. Texas (30)
The Longhorns are coming off their third Learfield Cup title and will send 30 athletes to Paris. One of the more notable Horns alumni is forward Kevin Durant from the US men's basketball team.
5. California (39)
The Bears, now members of the ACC, have plenty of representatives in Paris. Cal finished a humble 20th in the most recent Learfield standings, but it's safe to say that they own the summer games with a ton of swimmers and rowers coming from their program. Women's table tennis star Lily Zhang is also a Berkeley alum.
4. Florida (40)
The Gators are SEC Olympic champs and they finished 4th in the last Learfield Cup, so this performance is very much on brand. Swimmer Caeleb Dressel was a star in 2020 and is expected to repeat a strong performance this year.
3. Michigan (42)
The Wolverines managed to finish third in the Olympic round up, even though they were eighth in the Learfield Cup. Among many outstanding MIchigan contenders is field hockey standout Abby Tamer.
2. Southern Cal (44)
The Trojans, now in the Big Ten, finished second overall; but best in their league when it comes to producing Olympic competitors. Water polo star Kaleigh Gilchrist has her eyes set on a third straight gold medal as she competes this year.
1.Stanford (51)
The Cardinal produced the most Olympic athletes, despite the turmoil of shifting to the ACC. Stanford was second for the Learfield Cup last year. Unfortunately, Cameron Brink, who was selected to the US 3-on-3 women's basketball team, will be unable to compete due to an ACL injury.
