Here are the five college football players with the most rushing yards after Week 6.

#1 Ashton Jeanty

Ashton Jeanty leads the NCAA in rushing yards through Week 6 with 1031. Those yards have come on 95 attempts, and he also has 16 touchdowns. He averages 10.9 yards per carry, and his longest carry was 77 yards.

Jeanty jumped to the front of the Heisman race after his performance for Boise State helped the Broncos get a 62-30 win over Utah State. FanDuel gives him +220 odds to win the Heisman, and his next closest competitor is Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter with +320 odds.

#2 Kaleb Johnson

Iowa running back Kaleb Johnson has the second most rushing yards through Week 7 with 771 on 97 carries. He is averaging 7.9 yards per carry and has scored 10 touchdowns. His longest carry was 64 yards against Illinois State in Week 1. Johnson had by far his worst performance of the season on Saturday when he only rushed for 86 yards on 15 carries.

#3 Omarion Hampton

North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton lands third on the leading rushing yards list after Week 6. He has 137 carries for 764 yards and seven touchdowns. He averages 5.6 yards per carry. Hampton is used as a volume running back, meaning he is given the ball frequently and expected to pick up small yardage consistently.

#4 Tahj Brooks

Texas Tech running back Tahj Brooks has rushed for the fourth most yards this season. In 124 carries, he had 679 yards and seven touchdowns. He has averaged 5.5 yards per carry, nearly equal to Hampton. Brooks is coming off his most successful scoring game of the season, where he scored three touchdowns against Arizona.

#5 Kyle Monangai

Rutgers running back Kyle Monangai rounds out the top five with 667 yards and six touchdowns this season on 116 carries. He averages 5.8 yards per carry, but his average is boosted by 8.7 and 7.7 yards per carry in the first two games, respectively.
