The Georgia Bulldogs are preparing for the Sugar Bowl, but also have to be aware of the transfer portal. As is typical for teams still playing, the Bulldogs haven't had massive losses to the portal.
But they have lost some contributors already ahead of their battle with Notre Dame. Here's a rundown of the top Georgia prospects already in the transfer portal.
Top 5 Georgia players in portal ahead of Sugar Bowl
5. Justyn Rhett, S
A high three-star prospect from Las Vegas, Rhett didn't make much contribution in two seasons at Georgia. Rhett ended up only playing in four games and making three tackles. He did utilize a redshirt and thus will have three seasons of remaining eligibility. He's heading back closer to home at his next stop, having committed to play for Nebraska and coach Matt Rhule.
4. Troy Bowles, LB
A four-star linebacker prospect from Florida, Bowles also spent two years in Athens without making much of an impact. He played in a total of seven games over the past two seasons, with a total of five tackles, all of which came in 2023. He redshirted in 2024 and thus has three full years of eligibility left at his next stop, which he has announced will be Michigan.
3. Sam M'Pemba, DE
A four-star recruit out of IMG Academy and St. Louis before that, M'Pemba is another two-year Bulldog. He seemed likely to make an impact during 2023, when he played in 11 games and had six tackles as a true freshman. But his 2024 season included four games and no tackles. Having redshirted, he has three years left at Texas A&M, his next stop.
2. Jamaal Jarrett, DT
Jarrett is yet another two-year Bulldog who struggled to see action in games. Across the last two seasons, he played in 16 games making nine total tackles. Jarrett will also have three more years of college football eligibility and he headed west, landing with Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans.
1.Julian Humphrey, CB
A four-star defensive back recruit from Texas, Humphrey is a three-year Georgia veteran. He redshirted in 2022's national title season, only playing in three games.
In his Georgia career, Humphrey played 23 games with 21 tackles and five passes broken up. Four of those pass break-ups came this year, but Humphrey has still moved out to Texas A&M, where he has two years of eligibility left.
