The 2025 college football recruiting class is overflowing with talent from across the country. The quarterback position will have a number of top players who have dazzled in front of college football recruiters during their time in high school.
The QB class of 2025 also includes the top-ranked recruit in the entire class. Here, we will rank the most intriguing QB recruits who have a five-star rating.

Top 5 most intriguing 5-star QB recruits in the 2025 college football season

#5, Matt Zollers, Spring-Ford High School
On3 ranks Spring-Ford High School quarterback Matt Zollers as a five-star recruit and the No. 11 national recruit. Zollers has committed to play his freshman season of college football with the Missouri Tigers.
The 6-foot-3.5 QB received 21 offers from top college football programs around the country, including Florida, Georgia, Michigan State and Penn State. Zollers is more physical than the average quarterback but possesses extreme toughness and can put a ton of velocity on the ball with a lightning-quick release.
#4, Husan Longstreet, Centennial High School
247Sports ranks Centennial High School's Husan Longstreet as the fourth QB recruit in the class of 2025. Longstreet is the top recruit from California and stands slightly undersized at 6-1.
Longstreet narrowed his two schools down to Auburn and Texas A&M before committing to the Aggies. He has elite arm strength and a snappy release. His athleticism has improved over time, and he finished the 2023 season with 3,013 yards and 24 touchdowns, with an additional 645 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.
#3, Tavien St. Clair, Bellefontaine High School
Tavien St. Clair is a 6-4, five-star QB recruit who is the top-ranked recruit from Ohio. St. Clair will remain in his home state after committing to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2025.
He is a multisport athlete who plays football and baseball and has textbook size for a college quarterback. He can fit the ball in tight windows and can throw well after escaping the pocket when he's in trouble. St. Clair completed 70.6% of his passes in 2023, setting a school record with 3,983 yards and 37 touchdowns.
#2, Keelon Russell, Duncanville High School
Five-star QB and Alabama commit Keelon Russell shined during the Elite 11 competition in June and took home the MVP award from the event. Russell is a 6-3 playmaking quarterback with a slim frame at just 175 pounds. He is extremely athletic and just as much of a threat on the ground as he is passing.
Russell originally committed to play for SMU in 2025 last fall but flipped his commitment to Alabama in early June. Russell also made an official visit to Oregon on June 21 after the Ducks made him an offer in May.
#1, Bryce Underwood, Bellville High School
LSU commit Bryce Underwood is the top-ranked QB and top-ranked overall recruit in the class of 2025. The star received 41 offers before electing to play for the Tigers in 2025.
Underwood has everything a program could want in a quarterback, including ideal height, size, athleticism and arm talent. He enters his senior season at Bellville with 141 total touchdowns and continues to show improvement in his game each season. He navigates the pocket extremely well and can turn himself into a major threat on the ground in space.
