The 2024 Olympics have kicked off in Paris, France. Thousands of athletes from over 200 countries have arrived at the French capital for the chance to be the best in the world.
There are numerous athletes at the Olympic games who attended college in the United States and have competed for their college team. One of these teams is the Tennessee Volunteers, who have 32 past and present athletes, representing the US in Paris.
Here are some of those Tennessee athletes who are representing their country at the 2024 Olympic Games.

#5. Christian Coleman
Christian Coleman is a sprinter who will be representing the United States on the track in Paris. Coleman is a former world champion in the 100m and is part of the US 4x100m relay team.
During his time with the Volunteers, Coleman won numerous championships at both the SEC and national levels and is the current NCAA record holder for the men's 100 m with a time of 9.82
#4. Erika Connolly
Erika Connolly is a swimmer and will be representing the United States in the pool.
During her period with Tennessee, Connolly won a gold medal as part of the Volunteers relay team in the 2019 NCAA championships.
A former SEC Swimmer of the Year, Connolly has been successful after she became professional, winning numerous medals in relays.
#3. Uroš Plavšić
Plavšić is a former member of the Tennessee Volunteers basketball team and will be representing Serbia at the Olympics.
While he was with Tennessee, Plavšić averaged 3.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, helping the Volunteers win the SEC championship in 2022.
Now playing in his native Serbia, Plavšić will be alongside the likes of Nikola Jovkic, as the Serbs will hope to get out of a group that contains the United States.
#2. Kira Toussaint
Kira Toussaint is a swimmer who will be representing the Netherlands in both the 100m and the 200m backstroke. This will be her third Olympic game, something that no other Tennessee Volunteer has ever done before.
Toussaint is one of the strongest backstroke swimmers and is a former world record holder in the event.
During her college years, she was dominant, winning numerous SEC titles, and she hopes to be able to win gold for the Netherlands in the next few days.
#1. Michelle Alozie
Michelle Alozie is a women's soccer player from Nigeria who spent one year with the Volunteers after several seasons with the Yale Bulldogs.
While with Tennessee, she scored three goals from 17 appearances. She now plays for the Houston Dash in the NWSL, where she has had some success.
