Texas A&M is well represented in the ongoing Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games. The university boasts of 21 former and current athletes or coaches representing different categories in the competition. This marks a drop from the 26 that participated in Tokyo in 2021.
The Aggies' representatives include 20 athletes and one coach who are competing in various events at the Olympics. Ten of the athletes will be participating in track & field, six in swimming, two in diving, two in tennis while Joni Taylor is an assistant to women’s basketball for Team USA.
The university athletes are representing 11 countries at the event. These include the United States, Australia, Jamaica, Algeria, Canada, France, Grenada, Israel, Lebanon, Peru and Singapore. Of the 20 athletes, only two are currently students at the university.

#1, Aviv Barzelay, Israel, Swimming
Aviv Barzelay is making a return to the Olympic Games in Paris. She participated in the games in Tokyo three years ago and is competing for a medal once again.
She enrolled at Texas A&M in 2021 and has represented the school in a series of collegiate competitions over the years. She's participated in several variants of swimming races including the 100m freestyle, 200m backstroke, 200m and 400m medley relay and a couple of others.
#2, Jaxon Bowshire, Australia, Diving
Jaxon Bowshire is an incoming freshman at Texas A&M. The Australian diver makes his way to the United States for his collegiate career after making a name for himself in his homeland.
Brownshire had his high school education at Saint Michael College in Henley Beach, Australia, and has been competing with Diving South Australia over the years. He gets to take his career to the next level in College Station.
