After winning the 2024 Heisman Trophy, Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter is getting ready for the NFL. While he has made it clear that he will enter the 2025 NFL draft with some comments, it will be interesting to see how teams view him and if they want him to play one position.
Hunter had an unbelievable season for the Buffs with 92 receptions for 1,152 yards (12.5 yards per catch), 14 touchdown receptions, a pair of carries for five yards (2.5 yards per rush) and a rushing touchdown on the offensive side. Defensively, he recorded 31 total tackles (20 solo, 11 assisted) with 11 pass deflections, one forced fumble and four interceptions while defending the opposing team's top wide receiver.
So what will Hunter's NFL Draft 2025 stock look like? Let's take a closer look at the draft.
Where will Travis Hunter get drafted?
There is ongoing speculation regarding where Travis Hunter will be selected as the NFL draft order has not been finalized. There are four more weeks of regular season action before the top of the 2025 NFL Draft is set.
Hunter is the best non-quarterback in this draft and arguably the best player, so expect a team that has a quarterback in place to be eager to take him. Entering the NFL Week 15, below are the top 10 picks:
- Las Vegas Raiders
- New York Giants
- New England Patriots
- Carolina Panthers
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Tennessee Titans
- New York Jets
- Cleveland Browns
- Chicago Bears
- Cincinnati Bengals
Most of these teams do not have quarterbacks, but two teams jump out as Hunter's landing spots: the New England Patriots and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Patriots have their franchise quarterback hopeful in rookie Drake Maye, so they will not go back in for another quarterback with their top pick. It makes sense why coach Jerod Mayo would want an elite playmaker like Hunter with the third pick.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars paid big money to quarterback Trevor Lawrence ahead of this season and could add Hunter with the fifth pick. He could easily become the team's WR1 right away and make the team a lot more lethal down the field.
Do not expect Hunter to be on the draft board for too long before being taken as he could go as high as first overall.
