The Colorado Buffaloes are looking like a totally different program than the one that ended last season, as two-way star Travis Hunter has shown the ability to just take over the game. During the third quarter of their Week 5 game on the road against the UCF Knights, Hunter made an incredible play to get the interception off of Knights quarterback KJ Jefferson. After the play, Hunter struck the Heisman pose, and it could be a sign of things to come.

People took to X to talk about the play and Travis Hunter's chances of being crowned the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner.

"HE NEEDS TO WIN!" One X user responded.
"The fact he plays offense and defense incredibly well, should be him by a mile. That's just unheard of nowadays." Another person commented on the post.

Fans have been thrilled with what Travis Hunter has been able to do in the first handful of games this season.

"Yall realize he was covering 3 people in one play right ????? HEISMAN HIM NOW" Someone posted on social media.
"If you weren't paying full attention to the game, and only looked up at the end of that play. You would have thought Travis Hunter ran a 6 to 4 hitch on that one. Gahdamn" One person replied on X.

What are the odds for Travis Hunter to win the 2024 Heisman Trophy?

The 2024 Heisman Trophy odds are shaping up as the college football season progresses. While once viewed as a longshot, the odds for wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter walking away with the 2024 Heisman Trophy continue to get stronger each week.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Travis Hunter currently holds the third-best odds to win the award. The only two players that have better odds than Hunter (+800) are Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward (+300) and Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe (+700).

The Heisman Trophy has not strictly been a quarterback award, despite the position winning seven of the previous eight honors. Alabama wide receiver Devonta Smith was the last wide receiver to win the award during the 2020 season while Michigan's Charles Woodson in 1997 was the last cornerback to do so.

It will be interesting to see if Travis Hunter can continue putting up numbers on both sides of the field to keep his candidacy intact. However, it is difficult to make an argument against him right now.
