The Tulane Green Wave squared off against the UAB Blazers in Week 6 of the 2024 college football season. The Saturday afternoon game got underway at 1 p.m. ET from Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama.
Darian Mensah started as Tulane's quarterback while Jalen Kitna led the offense for the Blazers.

UAB vs. Tulane game summary
Tulane opened the scoring in the first quarter when Ty Thompson rushed for a 3-yard touchdown. Kicker Ethan Head converted the extra point. UAB responded with a 33-yard field goal from Jonah Delange.
However, Tulane extended its lead when Rayshawn Delange recorded a stunning 100-yard kick return for a touchdown. Head failed to convert the extra point, but it mattered less when Makhi Hughes rushed for a 1-yard TD just a few minutes later. Head converted the extra point this time.
Delange then converted a 32-yard field goal just before the first quarter ended. However, Tulane led 20-6 after the first.
The second quarter began with the Green Wave piling on the offense. Hughes rushed for a 51-yard touchdown and Head converted the extra point. Head then made a 25-yard field goal with 6:24 remaining in the second quarter.
Tulane put the game virtually beyond UAB when Arnold Banes rushed for a 1-yard touchdown with 1:11 left in the second quarter. The Green Wave led 37-6 at halftime.
Tulane opened the scoring in the second half when Yulkeith Brown caught a 14-yard touchdown pass from Mensah. Mensah was then replaced by Ty Thompson not long into the second half since the game was all but sealed.
Thompson then got in on the act as well when he threw a 22-yard TD pass to Brown with 5:32 remaining in the third quarter. Only 14 seconds later, Tulane stretched its lead when Green Wave linebacker Chris Rodgers had a 28-yard interception return for a touchdown. The Wave led 57-6 after the third quarter.
After going scoreless in two quarters, UAB finally had something to show for in offense when Kitna combined with Amare Thomas for a 73-yard touchdown.
Tulane responded by scoring two quickfire rushing touchdowns. Barnes ran for a 14-yard score, followed by Jamauri McClure, who rushed for a 28-yard TD run. Barnes converted the two extra points.
The Blazers had the final score of the game when Solomon Beebe rushed for a 6-yard TD. However, it was Tulane who recorded a comfortable 70-21 win over UAB.
