With the Mountain West Championship Game set to kick off on Friday, the injury report will play a part. The No. 10-ranked Boise State Broncos (11-1) will play the No. 20-ranked UNLV Rebels (10-2) with the Mountain West Championship on the line.
UNLV vs Boise State injury report
The injury report for these is interesting because while the Broncos are dealing with several injuries, the Rebels are lucky not to have a single player on their report. So, if the Rebels are going to pull off an upset on Friday, it could be because they have a completely healthy roster.
UNLV injury report
It is nearly unprecedented for a college football team to reach this point in the season without any major injuries on its roster.
UNLV is lucky not to have a single player on its report. Although some players have dealt with injuries throughout the season, they have all gotten healthy in time for the Rebels to compete in the Mountain West Championship Game.
Boise State injury report
Boise State has six players listed on its injury report.
#1 Chris Marshall
Wide receiver Chris Marshall has missed most of the season with an undisclosed injury. He last appeared in a 37-34 Oregon Ducks loss on Sept. 7. He could only play the first two games of the season, which was a big disappointment after missing all of the 2023 season.
Fortunately for the Ducks, Marshall's status has improved and he has been upgraded to questionable for the Mountain West Championship Game. However, it is unclear whether the coaching staff would play him in such a crucial game after he has been absent for nearly three months.
#2 Sire Gaines
Running back Sire Gaines is questionable for the Mountain West Championship Game against UNLV with a knee injury. Gaines suffered the knee injury during the 56-14 win over Portland State on Sept. 21 and has not returned to the lineup.
However, with his status improving, he could return in this crucial matchup. He had been having a good season before getting injured, even rushing for 110 yards in the first game of the year.
#3 Alexander Teubner
Safety Alexander Teubner is questionable for Friday's matchup with an undisclosed injury. He suffered the injury in early November against Nevada and has not returned. However, there is a possibility he could make his return in the most crucial game of the season.
