The 2024 College Football season is in full swing, with plenty of storylines entering the mock draft season. The 2025 NFL draft is still six months away, but scouts around the league have attended some of the biggest games this season, highlighting the best players in college football.
Here are 10 players who are likely to continue their emergence as first-round picks in the 2025 NFL draft after stellar performances in Week 8.
Updated 2025 NFL Mock Draft after Week 8
#1. Cam Ward
After eight weeks, Cam Ward has continued to set himself apart as QB1 in the 2025 NFL draft. Entering Week 9, Ward leads the FBS in passing yards (2,538) and passing touchdowns (24). He is coming off a 319-passing-yard, four-touchdown performance for the Miami Hurricanes versus the Louisville Cardinals in Week 8.
#2. Travis Hunter
Travis Hunter continues to bolster his draft stock with each passing week. Despite a dip in his receiving numbers over the final two games, Hunter has continued his elite play on the defensive side of the ball. Hunter has a strong case to be ranked as both the top receiver and cornerback in the 2025 draft class. Through seven games, Hunter has recorded 51 receptions for 604 yards and six touchdowns.
#3. Shedeur Sanders
While there weren't many questions regarding Sheduer Sanders' first-round talent, the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback has continued to prove himself as less of a project. Through six games, Sanders has completed a career-high 72.2% of his passes for 2,268 yards and 19 touchdowns.
#4. Mason Graham
Mason Graham has continued to build his draft stock after establishing himself as a locked-and-loaded first-round pick in 2023. Mason Graham is a day-one NFL starter and will be a key contributor from the jump. He has recorded 27 tackles, five for loss and 3.5 sacks through seven games this season.
#5. Will Johnson
Another Michigan defender with a strong case to be a top five pick, Will Johnson is arguably the top cornerback in college football and is continuing his All-American-caliber play and production. While the Wolverines have struggled, Johnson has shined, recording 14 tackles and two interceptions with two touchdowns.
#6. Tetairoa McMillan
Despite coming off a quiet week, Tetairoa McMillan has the whole package as an NFL receiver. At 6-foot-5, McMillan has a stately combination of size and speed, with a strong catch radius for 50-50 balls. He grabbed 47 passes for 780 yards and four touchdowns through seven games this season.
#7. Kelvin Banks Jr.
Kelvin Banks Jr. has continued to build his draft stock coming off a stellar sophomore season for the Texas Longhorns. In his junior season, Banks is arguably the top tackle prospect in college football. His length and athleticism will translate as a day-one starter at offensive tackle in the NFL.
#8. Ashton Jeanty
Through six games, Ashton Jeanty is in the midst of what could become the best rushing season in college football history. Jenaty is looking to break Barry Sanders' single-season rushing record (2,628 yards) and will likely be a top 10 pick in April.
#9. Will Campbell
While his production has dipped slightly from his sophomore season, Will Campell is still performing at a high level in his junior year. With concerns surrounding his arm length as an NFL tackle, Campell could project better in the interior of the offensive line in the NFL but is still a day-one starter and a likely top 10 pick.
#10. Cobee Bryant
Cobee Bryant makes his way into the top ten after a historic week for the lowly Kansas Jayhawks. While the team has had a disappointing start to their season, Bryant and Co. are coming off a dominant display in Week 8. In a 42-14 win over Houston, Bryant had three tackles, one for loss and three interceptions.
