USF vs FAU: Preview

USF is a 2.5-point favorite, while the over/under is set at 52.5 points.
The Bulls are coming off an open week and before that, USF beat UAB on the road in an impressive win. USF was led by Kelley Joiner, who rushed for two touchdowns in a statement win.
"Kelley (Joiner) is one of the guys we continue to count on,'' coach Alex Golesh said, via team website. "He has been through it all here, ups and downs, injuries, a few coaches. But he keeps coming to work and he keeps swinging.
"It's a cool room (running back room). They're all rooting for each other. It has been a rough few weeks for them and we have been demanding a lot.
"I've literally not heard one of them complain. But with Kelley in the fourth quarter and those other guys, they were hungry to chew up yards and get into that end zone.''
USF is led by Joiner, who has rushed for 364 yards and 6 touchdowns, while defensively, Jhalyn Shuler has two picks and Mac Harris has 46 tackles.
FAU, meanwhile, is also coming off its bye week and, before that, lost to UTSA on the road. The Owls are on a two-game losing streak and are 1-3 in their last four.
FAU coach Tom Herman says it was a frustrating loss as he left like the team could have played better and he put the blame on himself.
"I know how they're taught and so at some point you know it's it's always going to fall on me right and we've got to make harder decisions heading into these last five weeks.
"We've got two weeks to figure that out but we've got to play the guys that can consistently at least just do what they're taught to do and if we can figure that piece of the puzzle out we're going to have a chance and I'm angry that we didn't tonight in the second half and it happened in the first half," Herman said, via FAUOwlsNest.
FAU is led by Cam Fancher, who's thrown for 1,154 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. CJ Campbell Jr. has rushed for 400 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Defensively, the Owls have eight interceptions as a team and nine sacks, while CJ Heard has 48 tackles.
This should be a close game as both USF and FAU have struggled. But the Bulls should be able to go on the road and get a big win here. USF has the better offense, which will be the difference in this spot.
Prediction: USF 31, FAU 24
