The Utah Utes (4-5) and No. 18 Colorado Buffaloes (7-2) face off on Saturday in Week 12 of the 2024 college football season. The Utes are looking to win the game and potentially put themselves in the running for a bowl game, while the Buffaloes are aiming to win this game and the rest of their regular-season showdowns to potentially capture a spot in the CFB playoffs.
Here's a closer look at the injury reports for both teams ahead of the game at Folsom Field.
Utah football’s injury report
#1. Brandon Rose
Quarterback Brandon Rose will be missing from today's game against Colorado and for the rest of the season. According to Buffaloes Wire, the shot caller is dealing with a lower-body injury.
The injury to Rose is yet another blow to Utah's quarterback room. He's the third Utes quarterback to be ruled out for the rest of the year, following Cam Rising and Sam Huard. In Rose's absence, the Utes will likely start Isaac Wilson against the Buffaloes.
#2. Brant Kuithe
Starting tight end Brant Kuithe will also miss today's game and, subsequently, the rest of the season. The tight end suffered an injury against the BYU Cougars.
Kuithe got hurt in the third quarter and was later spotted in regular clothes on the sidelines. Head coach Kyle Whittingham confirmed the injury and the fact that the injury put an end to his six-year college football career.
Colorado football’s injury report
#1. Micah Welch
Running back Micah Welch is questionable for today's game. The RB is fresh off missing his side's Week 11 game due to a hamstring injury.
Welch last featured on Oct. 19 at Arizona and will be raring to be part of the Buffaloes' end-of-regular-season run.
#2. Omarion Miller
Omarion Miller will also not play a part in today's game or for the rest of the season. The wide receiver suffered a significant leg injury against Kansas State last month.
Before his injury, Miller was ascending the Buffaloes' stacked wide receiver depth chart and looking to help the team achieve its preseason targets. He'll be watching on from the stands.
#3. Shane Cokes
Shane Cokes is questionable for today's game. The defensive tackle missed the last matchup against Texas Tech due to an injury.
However, he's now in the running to make his first appearance since Oct. 26.
