Washington State vs Oregon State: Preview
Washington State is a 12.5-point favorite, while the over/under is set at 56.5 points.
The battle of the last Pac-12 teams has lost some luster as Oregon State is coming off a shutout loss to Air Force, while Washington State has looked great.
The Cougars are coming off a disappointing loss to New Mexico, ending any hope of sneaking into the playoffs.
“There wasn’t enough adjustments,” WSU coach Jake Dickert said, via Seattle Times. “They do a good job of cracking, making your quarter safeties come down and make the plays. But at some point, we gotta get more aggressive and try to just get the ball out of his hands and make someone else beat us. And we were never able to do that.”
Washington State is led by John Mateer, who's thrown for 2,707 yards, 26 touchdowns and six interceptions. He's also the team's leading rusher, as he's rushed for 695 yards and 12 touchdowns. Kyle Williams leads the team with 872 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.
Defensively, the Cougars are led by Ethan O'Connor, who has three interceptions; Ansel Din-Mbuh has 4.5 sacks; and Taariq Al-Uqdah has 58 tackles.
Oregon State, meanwhile, has struggled this season as the Beavers are on a five-game losing streak and coming off being shut out by Air Force.
"It's never just on the coaches or the players," coach Trent Bray said, via KVAL. "We all win and lose together, so we all have to look at what we need to get better at. When you lose like we've lost the last five weeks, it's never just one thing, and it's certainly not just the players."
Oregon State is led by Gevani McCoy, who has thrown for 1,300 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions. Anthony Hankerson has rushed for 889 yards and 14 touchdowns, while Trent Walker has 714 receiving yards for two touchdowns.
The Beavers have struggled mightily lately. Washington State, meanwhile, has been able to score as the Cougars will go on the road and get a massive win here.
