The Michigan Wolverines under first-year coach Sherrone Moore hit another bump after losing 27-17 to coach Jedd Fisch's Washington Huskies on the road during Week 6 of college football action. The Wolverines dropped to 4-2 (2-1 Big Ten) as they also lost to the Texas Longhorns in Week 2 (31-12).

The win was a big one for the Huskies (4-2, 2-1) who played in a revenge game of sorts after they were defeated 34-13 in the national championship game in January by then-Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh.

The upset win also represented Washington's biggest win of the season after losing coach Kalen DeBoer to the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Huskies have lost to the Washington State Cougars and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights this season.

QB Alex Orji/Jack Tuttle

Alex Orji went 3 of 7 for 15 yards on 42.9% completion. With the Michigan Wolverines down 14-0 in the second quarter, which highlighted the ever-present Wolverines quarterback issues, coach Sherrone Moore brought on Jack Tuttle. Tuttle showed his class by leading three scoring drives that pushed the team to a 17-14 lead.

NBC sideline reporter Kathryn Tappen shared what Moore told her about the QB change.

"(Moore said) we needed a little bit of a boost, and he provided that energy, he provided that spark," Tappen said. "He practiced well all week, he's been healthy," Tappen said on the TV broadcast, paraphrasing what Moore told her. "We've known for a few weeks now (that Tuttle is healthy) but decided now was the time to put him in."

After the initial spark, Jack Tuttle also struggled as he went 10 of 18 for 98 yards with one touchdown and two turnovers which stopped the Wolverines' momentum and allowed the Washington Huskies to pull off the win.

QB Will Rogers

Washington Huskies QB Will Rogers put on a clinic as he went 21 of 32 for 271 yards resulting in two touchdowns and his first interception of the season.

Michigan team analysis

The Wolverines' offensive woes were once again apparent with the switch from Alex Orji to Jack Tuttle which sparked an offensive resurgence that saw the Wolverines score 17 unanswered points to grab the lead.

Tuttle's fumble and two turnovers wiped out all the good work he did and showed just how badly Michigan needs one QB to step up to be the main man.

Washington team analysis

The Washington Huskies have had poor losses to the Washington State Cougars and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights but how they rallied in the fourth quarter with 14 unanswered points showed resilience.

Will Rogers continued his stellar start to the season and has now registered 1,625 yards on 73.6% with 12 touchdowns and one interception to give the Huskies one of the most potent weapons in college football.
