The Oregon–Washington football rivalry is one of the oldest rivalries in American college football which goes back almost 100 years, dating back to 1900. The rivalry, which is also known as the Border War or the Cascade Clash, is held between the Oregon Ducks and Washington Huskies, and both teams are part of the Big Ten Conference.

The game between the two is one of the most played rivalries in the history of NCAA Division I FBS. Additionally, it has continued regularly ever since their inaugural meeting in 1900. The two sides will be seen once again for the upcoming 117th time to extend the record of their long-standing rivalry.

Washington vs Oregon Football Rivalry History

Washington and Oregon, the two teams from the Big Ten Conference are located 285 miles (460 km) apart. In their initial meeting in 1900, Oregon managed to dominate the game with a 43–0 victory in Eugene. The rivalry between the two teams became intense and heated after Oregon and California both resulted undefeated in the Pacific Coast Conference. Oregon's only loss was to that year’s national champions, Michigan.

While Oregon and California were tied for the best record in the conference, the Rose Bowl participant was decided by the votes which were given by the members of the conference. It was assumed that the four California schools would choose to vote for California and the Northwest schools would be going for Oregon, this was not the case, surprisingly. Washington went on to vote for California and compelled Montana to vote for the side.
