The Louisville Cardinals' victory over Notre Dame in detail
The Louisville Cardinals were ranked as the No. 25 school in the nation at the time, so their taking of the No. 10-ranked Irish shocked the nation.
While the first half of the game was quiet, with each teama scoring one touchdown, the Louisville offense meant business in the second half, scoring 26 points.
Cardinals quarterback Jack Plummer only threw for 145 yards, with one touchdown pass, much less than Notre Dame's Sam Hartman who threw for 254 yards with two touchdown passes but three interceptions.
The Week 6 game was the sixth straight win of the Cardinals that season. It was Louisville's best start to a season since 2013. The game also ended Notre Dame's 30-game winning streak against ACC opposition.
The schools will clash again on Sept. 28 this year, this time in South Bend, Indiana.
