Western Michigan vs Bowling Green: Preview
Western Michigan is an 8.5-point underdog and the over/under is set at 58.5 points.
The Broncos snapped their four-game winning streak against the Huskies.
“One of the biggest indicators in wins or losses is the turnover margin,” Western Michigan coach Lance Taylor said during the postgame presser, via WesternHerald. “It’s hard to win games if you don’t win it. We’ve stressed that. We’ve been on the other end of it a lot this year, but tonight we weren’t.”
This season, Western Michigan is led by Hayden Wolff who has thrown for 1,765 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions. Jaden Nixon has rushed for 847 yards and 12 TDs.
Defensively, Tate Hallock has three interceptions, Corey Walker has 3.5 sacks and Donald Willis has 66 tackles.
Meanwhile, Bowling Green is on a three-game winning streak and Falcons coach Scot Loeffler was pleased with his team's performance against the Chippewas.
"[It was] an unbelievable win. [Central Michigan is] a tough place to play. [It was] terrible weather," Loeffler said postgame, via the team's website. We knew defensively they were going to give us a challenge. They completely changed the majority of what they did [in the past] completely, but we adapted and adjusted. We still found ways to get Harold [Fannin Jr.] the ball, even though they played coverages they've never played on first and second down.
"I thought we finally started running the ball better in the second half. [In the] first half, we did not run the ball well at all. I was really happy with our defense. I thought our defense kept us in it. We said it all week long that we had to pack our defense. Our defense really came to play. Offensively, we figured it out at the end and were able to finish the game. To come up here on the road in our first MACtion game, I'm happy with it."
Bowling Green is been led by Connor Bazelak who has thrown for 2,022 yards, 11 TDs and four interceptions. Terion Stewart has rushed for 674 yards and five TDs, while Harold Fannin Jr. has 1,033 receiving yards and six TDs.
Defensively, the Falcons are led by Jordan Oladokun's two interceptions, Charles Rosser's 4.5 sacks and Joseph Sipp Jr.'s 59 tackles.
This is a crucial game for the MAC standings and Bowling Green should be able to get another win at home to extend its win streak.
