Jeremiah Smith is an athletic specimen and one of the top-rated freshman wide receivers in the nation. According to 247 Sports, Smith is a pass catcher who gives opposing defenses fits due to his unique blend of pace, size and hands.

According to On3.com, Smith has a $752,000 NIL valuation. The Ohio State Buckeyes receiver has 188,000 social media followers and ranks in the Top 25 College Football NIL ranking. Smith figures to improve his NIL valuation due to his young age, potential and Ohio State's status as one of college football's biggest teams.

Jeremiah Smith's endorsement deals

According to On3 NIL, Jeremiah Smith has three major NIL deals ahead of the 2024 college football season. The deals are with The Foundation, Battle Sports and Ricart Automotive.

The freshman star's most significant NIL deal is with Ricart Automotive. Smith signed an NIL deal with the automotive giants and promptly received keys to a new Dodge Durango 392 in exchange for social media promotion and appearances at select events.

What does Jeremiah Smith add to the Ohio State Buckeyes?

Jeremiah Smith joins the Ohio State Buckeyes fresh off a high school season that saw him thrive as a track athlete and football player. Aside from his football prowess, Smith won gold in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles at Florida's 1A meet as a junior.

This blend of football skill and athletic ability will be difficult to stop at the collegiate level. Smith's route running is advanced for his age, and his ability to break tackles is a huge strength.

Speaking about Smith's potential, Ohio State coach Ryan Day said:

"It is rare to find someone as talented as he is but has good discipline and skill at that age. We haven't played a game yet, but he's certainly building a lot of respect among his teammates."

Day continued:

"He is strong, powerful and big, but his work ethic just jumps out. He's physically tough; he'll get after you. He takes his game very, very seriously. He also puts the work in off the field."

The Ohio State Buckeyes lost Marvin Harrison Jr. to the NFL in 2024, but they might have struck gold with Smith. It'll be interesting to see whether the Chaminade-Madonna Prep product starts in Week 1. Plus, even if he doesn't, his skill set could get him reps in many capacities in 2024.
