South Carolina vs. Illinois: Head-to-head

Both teams enter the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on a win streak. Illinois (9-3, 6-3 Big Ten) won their last three games of the regular season. In Week 14, the team defeated the Northwestern Wildcats (4-8, 2-7 Big Ten) 38-28 on Nov. 30. Running back Aidan Laughery led Illinois to victory with 12 carries for 172 yards and three touchdowns.

The win marked the first time the Fighting Illini has achieved nine wins since 2007.

Meanwhile, South Carolina (9-3, 5-3 Southeastern Conference) has defeated their last five opponents heading into Tuesday's matchup. On Nov. 30, the Gamecocks won a close 17-14 game over the No. 12 Clemson Tigers (10-4, 7-1 Atlantic Coast Conference). Quarterback LaNorris Sellers showcased his running ability, finishing the contest with 16 carries for 166 yards and two touchdowns.

DraftKings has South Carolina as a -345 favorite to win the Citrus Bowl trophy. They have one of the best defenses in the SEC and are second in fewest rushing yards allowed with 1,276 yards. Illinois' offense may struggle if the Gamecocks can shut down their run game.
