When Nick Saban's daughter Kristen Saban made her thoughts clear about potentially being a head coach's wife 

Nick Saban's daughter, Kristen Saban, is a huge Alabama fan and has always been vocal about her support for the Crimson Tide program. She shows up to gamedays in stylish outfits and has good relationships with the players.

Kristen Saban has seen her mom, Miss Terry, take on the responsibilities of being a head coach's wife for 17 years. Miss Terry is also widely appreciated by other coaches like Deion Sanders for the kind of support she has extended to the seven-time national champ.

During an interview on "The Next Round" with Lance Taylor in June 2024, Kristen spoke about whether she'd choose to be a head coach's wife:

"No, no, I never really tried to go that route, especially dating people in high school and college," Kristen said.

Taylor asked Kristen if she'd ever dated an assistant coach, which made her chuckle as she answered his question:

"Probably not. Yeah thats the territory I stay out of, I think I am not allowed."

Appreciating her mother's support for Nick Saban, Kristen said:

"She was very good at it and she's the best coach's wife that's ever existed." (8:00)

Kristen Saban dismissed Nick Saban's retirement hint from Miss Terry

Terry Saban tried giving her daughter a heads-up about Nick Saban’s retirement plans, but Kristen was firm in her initial disbelief. In an interview with WVTM 13, she revealed that Miss Terry texted her about the possible announcement.

“I got a text message from my mom that morning. And she's like, 'Hey, you know, I just want to let you know, we've been having kind of conversations. And we don't know if it's happening today for sure. But I think he's kind of giving himself a timeline. So just, you know, heads up.'"

Much to her surprise, Nick Saban decided to step down as Alabama coach after 17 years at the helm. Kristen was on a flight when the news broke, and she immediately contacted her mother to confirm it.

Miss Terry assured her that the heads-up was indeed accurate. She excused herself to the airplane's bathroom and began to cry. It was an emotional moment for not just Kristen but the entire football community to see a legend hanging up his boots.
